I Use Nature’s Choice Organic Topsoil Because It Is The Best Choice For My Customers

Your landscape installation requires that I bring in topsoil. And the topsoil I most prefer to use is Nature’s Choice Organic Topsoil. Here’s why:

  • Topsoil is the foundation of any landscape. Landscapes are all about the arrangement of plants, and plants need good topsoil to reach their full potential. Not all topsoil is the same - in fact the differences can be very dramatic. If the topsoil isn’t good soil - nothing else matters. Your plants won’t grow as quickly, they’ll be more prone to disease or drought damage, they’ll suffer if we get too much rain, they won’t live as long. I use Nature’s Choice because it is 100% organic. If you could create a recipe for the perfect topsoil - it would be Nature’s Choice. The combination of rich farm soil, organic matter, and sand is the perfect combination for plants. We’ll spend a lot of time talking about which plants to choose, how to arrange them, how many to include in the design. One thing we don’t need to talk about is the quality of the soil they will make their home in - that’s because I use Nature’s Choice. It is the best topsoil available and the soil really matters.
  • Nature’s Choice Organic Topsoil Offers The Following
    • 100% Organic - all natural, no fillers, no sewage sludge like you’ll find in organic soil from other companies.
    • Heavy Organic Matter - the soil contains finally shredded leaves and grass clippings. Organic matter is the key to good soil. Organic matter influences everything from how much fertilizer is available to the plant - to how well the soil drains. The more organic matter the better, and Nature’s Choice soil has the perfect balance.
    • Drains Well - we live in an area where the soil often contains heavy concentrations of clay or shale. Both these constituents hold water - they do not allow the soil to drain well. Good drainage is critical to a healthy plant. As many plants die in our area from too much water as die from too little. Nature’s Choice soil drains extremely well.
    • Holds Moisture - it may seem paradoxical but organic soil holds water well and drains well. This combination is impossible to achieve with any soil other than organic soil. The organic matter is the key here. Organic matter creates large pore spaces in the soil - large pore spaces hold water - but because the pore spaces are large they also drain well as the soil dries out. The pore spaces in clay and shale are very small - the soil is so dense that instead of large loose pore spaces like those found in organic soil - clay and shale have very small tight spaces. These spaces hold onto their water much tighter, and the soil doesn’t drain as well. Nature’s Choice topsoil holds moisture to protect your plants in a drought, but allows them to drain properly when we have too much water. It is a combination that only the best natural soils can provide and Nature’s Choice is the best.
    • Aeration - plant roots need to breathe. If they don’t they will suffocate. Plants that die because the soil is too wet die because they can’t breathe. Nature’s Choice soil breathes very well because of the high percentage of organic matter. Organic matter creates large pore spaces - large passageways in the soil that air can move in and out of.
    • Holds Fertilizers - organic soils hold fertilizer very well, clay and shale soils do not. In order for a fertilizer to work properly a soil must hold it but not hold it too tightly. You apply fertilizer - and add water. If the soil doesn’t hold it well it drains right past the roots and too deeply into the ground. If it is held too tightly then it is not available to the plant. Clay and shale soils often hold fertilizer too tightly - they won’t let go. Nature’s Choice Organic Topsoil offers the perfect balance of fertilizer retention and release - a combination only available in organic soils.
    • And More - there are so many other reasons I use Nature’s Choice. It improves the structure of soil, reduces susceptibility to insect and disease damage, improves the balance of natural soil microorganisms and more. I don’t use Nature’s Choice for any one reason - I use it for all these reasons.

You have made a commitment to landscape your home - a process that will transform your property. Topsoil isn’t glamorous however it is important. If you were putting an addition onto your home and I told you that I was going to install a lousy foundation but build a beautiful 1st and 2nd floor above ground - would you feel comfortable? You wouldn’t because you’d always know that the foundation of your home is substandard. I am installing a landscape - an outdoor addition to your home and I want the foundation of that landscape to be the best available. It is important because no matter what else I do if the foundation isn’t solid than your landscape will never be it’s best. I use Nature’s Choice Organic Topsoil because it is the best foundation available.
